Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20 2002) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her roles as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' lead role earned her recognition in the latter half of 2010. Rodrigo made her debut on the mainstream scene with "Drivers License" the first single she released. She signed with Interscope Records in 2020 and broke many records. She followed it up with singles "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U", and released her debut solo album, Sour (2021), which was met with commercial and critical acclaim and received numerous awards, like three Grammy Awards. The documentary Olivia Rodrigo - Driving Home 2 U on Disney+, which chronicles the process of creating Sour and was released in 2022. Rodrigo is an Billboard Hot 100 singles number-one and a Billboard 200 album number-one, and has five multi-Platinum certificates from the Recording Industry Association of America. In addition to her other accolades Rodrigo was awarded the American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time declared her 2021 Entertainers' of the Year. Billboard named it Woman of the Year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo is the daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo (school teacher) and Chris Rodrigo (family therapist). She was born in Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta on the 20th of February 2003. [3][4][5][6]She grew up in Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo has an Irish and a German mother. [6][9][10] Her paternal great-grandfather Rodrigo left the Philippines as a teenager to the United States. She also said her family as Filipino and follows Filipino cuisine and traditions. Rodrigo learned to sing in the kindergarten years. She began taking acting and singing classes at the age of six years old and started acting in the theater of her elementary school productions. Rodrigo had already started playing guitar at 12 years old. 12 years old, she grew up listening to her parents' favourite alternative rock music like the groups No Doubt, Pearl Jam, the White Stripes, and Green Day. Rodrigo became interested in songwriting after listening to the country genre, particularly American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. 14 years after landing her Bizaardvark role, she moved to Los Angeles.
