Alexa Meade measurements, bio, height, weight, shoe, and bra size
Inspired by the shadows she observed on the ground, the artist spent many months experimenting with a method to convey objects in two dimensions on canvas. The subject instead transforms into a re-creation of itself, where the surface becomes the carrier of it's own painterly interpretation, especially when the subject is alive or perishable for example, like humans or fruit. Alexa Meade's paintings are ephemeral however the photograph is what is left. As the photographic and painting techniques are coordinated so closely it creates an illusion of trompe l'oeil, in which the illusion of 3D is only visible at certain places, for example the region around the eyes or hair. Meade occasionally integrates painted models in the space surrounding them. They are able to engage with the environment that she created. The result is a blurring of the lines between painting, photography and installation.
